What’s new in Wagtail CMS returns – May 2026
What’s new in Wagtail CMS will be returning a little later this spring. We’ve decided to push the date back slightly to make sure we can bring you the best possible session.
By moving the session to May, we’ll be able to share even more from the Wagtail 7.3 and 7.4 releases, alongside new features in the pipeline.
Here’s a preview of what we’re planning to cover in the session:
- Autosave
Draft content is now saved automatically in the background, reducing the risk of lost work and making day-to-day editing simpler. - Block settings in StreamField
A new StreamField capability that groups rarely used or “settings” fields into a separate section, reducing visual clutter in the editor. - llms.txt for docs
Adoption of the llms.txt proposal across the Wagtail developer docs and user guide, making it easier for AI tools (and people) to find the right information.
You’ll also hear early thinking on future Wagtail AI designs, a community update including plans for Wagtail Space 2026, and other highlights from across the project.
If you already signed up, we'll send over a fresh invite with the new date and time as soon as we’ve got the details locked in. You don't need to do anything for now; just keep an eye on your inbox!
If you'd like to be notified about the new date, sign up to This Week in Wagtail or keep an eye on our social platforms, LinkedIn and Bluesky.
