Sustainability Policy

We believe businesses have a responsibility to help create a fairer, more sustainable future. Reducing our environmental impact, and helping our clients reduce theirs, is an important part of how we work.

Like many organisations, we recognise the climate emergency and are committed to taking meaningful action.

We choose our work carefully

We do not work with fossil fuel companies or other high-carbon industries. Every potential client goes through an ethical review process to help ensure we partner with organisations creating positive social or environmental impact.

Our Ethical Fit review process outlines how we assess opportunities, raise concerns, and make decisions.

We’re B Corp certified

In April 2023, we became a certified B Lab B Corp, reflecting our commitment to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. We are currently preparing for our recertification under the new B Corp standards, raising our bar even higher.

We measure and reduce our emissions

We measure our environmental impact and report our emissions annually, including emissions associated with client hosting as part of our Scope 3 footprint.

We have committed to:

  • Reducing our absolute emissions by 50% by 2030
  • Reaching Net Zero by 2050

We continue to develop our Net Zero strategy with support from our Social Impact Coordinator and employee-led Climate and Sustainability Voice Group.

Our Bristol office uses 100% renewable electricity and 100% certified renewable gas through SSE Green Gas Plus.

We also provide plant-based catering for company events and team lunches as part of our approach to lower-impact food choices.

We build more sustainable digital products

Digital products have an environmental impact, and we believe it’s our responsibility to reduce it.

We work to minimise the emissions associated with the websites and platforms we design, build, and host by improving efficiency, reducing unnecessary resource usage, and setting measurable sustainability targets.

We also measure and report project-level emissions for every client project, helping our clients better understand and reduce the environmental impact of their digital products.

You can read more in our Digital Emissions Methodologies.

We travel thoughtfully

We prioritise low-emission travel wherever possible. We support cycling through our cycle-to-work scheme, offer an electric vehicle scheme, and avoid flying for business unless absolutely necessary.

We also encourage lower-carbon personal travel by offering our employees two days of sustainable holiday travel time through the Sustainable Travel policy scheme.

We’re always learning

We know sustainability is an ongoing process, not a finished goal. We’re committed to improving, being transparent about our progress, and learning from others along the way.

If you have ideas, feedback, or would like to collaborate, we’d love to hear from you.

Political and lobbying Activities

We do not engage in lobbying activities and do not make political contributions.
