I build websites that are user-friendly and visually appealing, with a focus on responsive design, performance and accessibility. I enjoy finding solutions that balance clean code, high performance and reusability. For charities and public sector organisations serving a wide range of people, getting this right is especially crucial.
Since joining Torchbox, I've worked with clients including Tate, London Museum and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, and I'm currently working with the Paul Mellon Centre.
I taught myself to code before completing a web development programme and working with a few startups before joining Torchbox. I'm always looking for the next thing to learn and finding ways to make my code better.
I was selected as an Outreachy intern for Wagtail CMS, a programme supporting people underrepresented in tech through open source internships. During my internship, I worked on wagtail.org, carrying out an accessibility audit and addressing all high-priority accessibility issues. I later returned as a Google Summer of Code Support Mentor for Wagtail's 'Low-carbon accessible project templates' project, supporting a contributor to build templates with sustainable coding practices at their core.
Accessibility is a particular interest of mine, and I'm currently studying towards the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) credential through IAAP.
In my spare time, I enjoy sketching and have recently started exploring acrylic and oil painting. I also enjoy reading, hanging out with family and friends, and listening to Y2K music.
