Grantshot

Grantshot is an internal piece of software we built to help the Football Foundation manage their grant process. A custom Django application, Grantshot integrates with the third-party system AchieveForms and acts a dashboard to manage and review ongoing grant applications. We made sure the interface provided a great user experience while simplifying the process for organisations who handle grants and money bursaries.

Over the last seven years I have worked with a number of different staff at Torchbox and have found them all to be thoroughly professional and personable individuals who genuinely care about their clients' success.

Upshot

Upshot is an enterprise-scale custom web app, which allows the Football Foundation to analyse and report on the impact of its grant-giving on local communities. Upshot allows a club to design a programme of events, track information about participants in those events and monitor the results.

For example, you might run a series of national fitness events over ten weeks. Upshot would allow you to log information about participants, including details such as BMI and fitness levels. You could then set evaluation targets and goals for the programme, such as sport uptake after the programme close.

We put together a sequence of user-friendly dashboards that captures data and analysis against these targets in an accessible, friendly format. Custom mapping and built-in reporting logs information from across the country, enabling an organisation to measure the impact of their programmes in a meaningful and valuable way.

We think Upshot lends itself to a variety of community projects and scenarios. Find out more, or watch our short animation above about how your organisation or project could benefit from using Upshot.

Torchbox do all they can to help, no matter what the request, and demonstrate a fantastic degree of flexibility. Their developers take immense pride in the quality of their work and are extremely thorough in their analysis and implementation - minor inaccuracies are extremely rare and always rectified very speedily.

Pitchfinder

Pitchfinder is the biggest and most complete database of football pitches available around the country. Over 48,000 pitches are currently logged and the site allows visitors from all over to propose new pitches. Pitchfinder can even be embedded easily within a site.

Torchbox are open and honest about the time invested in their work and display a high degree of integrity and flexibility with billing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the organisation or its staff.

National Football Facilities Strategy Dashboard

The National Football Facilities Strategy (NFFS) Dashboard is used by the Football Foundation to measure the impact of their investments. It provides real time information to evaluate success and inform ongoing investment, aiming to answer the question "What is the state of grassroots football in England".

To achieve this we specified a robust technical solution that amalgamates data from the Football Foundation's own databases, Sport England’s active places database, third-party bookings systems, video capture player recognition software, customer feedback tablets and monitoring and evaluation systems.

We then turn report this against four key performance indicators; Engagement, Sustainability, Quality and Usage. We allow comparisons of predicted scores against actual scores, as well as showing levels of funding against outcomes.
