John Dunford

I help charities align their digital and tech strategies with their organisational goals to create positive change. Using a practical range of tools and processes, I work with clients to solve problems, identify new opportunities, and make their work as impactful as possible.
Before joining Torchbox, my experience spans digital, campaigns, and strategy roles across the charity sector, including time at Oxfam, Greenpeace, and the Churchill Fellowship. I also helped run a nonprofit digital agency where we supported hundreds of charities to harness technology for positive impact. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of partnering with fantastic organisations like Choose Love, Mercy Corps, MSF, Plan International, Samaritans, and many more.
While at Cambridge, I was awarded a Gates scholarship to research barriers to innovation in humanitarian organisations. I've also explored the efficacy of online petitioning through focused research projects.
Outside of work, I swim (slowly), play chess (badly), and I'm a trustee for a couple of charities (Concern Worldwide UK and Freedom From Torture).
