In 2021 we launched SEO Super Trumps, an analysis of over 50 charity websites across eight sub-sectors to benchmark organic SEO performance across the not-for-profit space. And now, we’ve expanded our research to include four brand-new sub-sectors: Disability, Arts and Culture, Violence Against Women and Girls, and Homelessness.

The four news sectors included in our analysis

Our SEO Super Trumps website and sector analysis was launched in 2021 via a live webinar, with guest speakers from Sightsavers, Oxfam, and NHS Digital.

Following the launch, we received lots of positive feedback on the research, as well as requests to include other nonprofit sectors in our analysis. In response, we decided on the four new sectors based on the current climate and data available, and have now produced sector reports for the following four sub-sectors:

  • Violence Against Women and Girls
  • Disability
  • Arts and Culture
  • Homelessness

For each sub-sector, we’ve reviewed key opportunities for content improvement and growth within the search engine results pages (SERPS). With the natural development of Google’s algorithm, this data depicts a snapshot in time that can change and improve with strategy-driven SEO work.

We’ll be sharing the new sub-sector analysis – plus other SEO advice you need to know in 2023 – at a webinar on the 8th of March 2023.

Charity sector insights from the whole of our SEO team

Our whole SEO team was involved in this project, pulling the data, crawling the websites, conducting analysis of rankings and performance, and capturing screenshots to bring our findings to life.

The project includes a vast amount of research, writing, data analysis, and collaboration, and we’re super proud to have produced another series of benchmark SEO reports for the not-for-profit sector. The insights included are relevant to all nonprofit organisations looking to improve the visibility of their content for service users and future supporters.

The entire SEO team has worked so hard expanding the SEO analysis for Super Trumps. It’s been a huge team effort, and we hope you enjoy the findings.

As SEOs, we feel privileged to carry out this research and help to drive important change to improve the accessibility of such crucial information
