Accessibility: interesting links
I’ve recently been doing some research on accessibility — in particular, designing for blind or partially sighted users.
I found a bunch of useful research, articles and videos and thought it would be good to share them with you. If you only read one thing make it this great presentation by, Head of Accessibility at GDS, Joshua Marshall.
Here are some of the other things I found:
- How Blind People Use Twitter & YouTube on the iPhone 4S
- How blind people use the internet
- RNIB: Design and build accessible websites
- Blind Community Fights for a More Accessible Web
- How ARIA landmark roles help screen reader users
- Make the most out of ARIA landmark roles
- ARIA and progressive enhancement
- Using OSX’s voiceover
- Skip links
- Technology for life
- Sim daltonism
- BBC Accessibility
It was nice to refresh my accessibility knowledge and I got a lot from the videos of blind and partially sighted people using the internet.
