I transform ideas into robust, scalable digital solutions that help purpose-driven organisations increase their impact.

Since joining Torchbox in 2022, I've grown from a junior developer to a mid-level engineer, combining technical expertise with creative problem-solving across the full web stack. I'm particularly passionate about writing high-quality, well-documented code and sharing knowledge with the wider tech community - from presenting at PyCon ZA 2022 to hosting a Wagtail webinar and contributing to Oxford Geek Nights.

I've worked on impactful projects for organisations making positive change. Notable work includes implementing a custom commenting system for Cambridge University Hospitals’ intranet, implementing the backend for Great Ormond Street Hospital's 2022 Christmas Stocking Appeal (which raised over £1.1m for the first time), and creating bespoke solutions for clients like Resource for the Future and National Institutes of Health. I particularly enjoy diving into complex technical challenges, from optimising application performance to implementing automated testing. I'm also passionate about improving developer experience through better tooling and documentation, contributing to our Wagtail Accelerator Kit and maintaining community resources.

My background spans 11 years in civil engineering, where I designed and managed infrastructure projects across private, public and international development sectors. This experience, combined with my love for command-line tools and automation, helps me approach technical problems with both precision and practicality.

Outside of work, I maintain a technical blog, delve into music theory and production, and enjoy running in the countryside accompanied by podcasts or dynamic tunes. I’m often found tinkering with my Raspberry Pi or crafting personal software projects that merge my passion for automation with solving real-world problems through technology.
