Systems Engineer
Total remuneration package: £39,451 - £59,260 per annum, pro rata.**

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team!
You’ll be taking a role in the delivery, performance and security of the services for our lovely, interesting clients in the UK, Europe and the US. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team environment to help solve complex problems.
Our Systems Engineers have the following skills:
Solid understanding of internet and web application infrastructure architecture (e.g DNS, TLS, Web caching, CDNs)
Familiarity with big cloud platforms (e.g. Heroku, Cloudflare, AWS, GCP, Netlify), ideally though experience of building services on them
Confidence in writing code in Python (our core development language) and ideally knowledge of Django, Javascript and SQL
Familiarity using shell & scripting languages and Infrastructure as Code
Experience configuring and using Docker-based platforms
Familiarity with configuring and troubleshooting Linux based systems
Experience in automated monitoring for availability and performance of services and the investigation and resolution of incidents
Understanding of applying information security to all aspects of infrastructure, services and operations
Understanding of Agile processes
The ability to manage your time effectively when balancing reactive events, short notice requests and planned programmes of work
The ability to research and present proposals for the improvement of systems/processes and for new ones
Alongside the central systems engineering functions the role also covers:
Incident response support
Contributing to Torchbox’s Information Security Management System
Supporting colleagues in their management of devices and (minimal) office IT infrastructure
Onboarding and offboarding of colleagues
Supporting colleagues use of internal services

**This is made up of a base salary £31,175 - £48,400 and a bonus of £8,276 - £10,860. The bonus comprises a (tax free!) £3.6k EOT bonus and a company performance bonus. The bonus is paid in two tranches. The company bonus can be higher or lower based on company performance.
