Head of Data Analytics

£57,750 - £86,625

Digital Marketing

Bristol, Charlbury, US, Philippines & Remote

We’re Torchbox, the leading digital marketing agency for nonprofits, charities and organisations who make a difference in the world. Our clients include NHS.UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, Samaritans, Chatham House, Oxfam GB, the Disasters Emergency Committee and many, many other amazing charities. We’re also proud to be the creators of Wagtail, one of the leading open source CMSs, now used by Google, NASA, the NHS and thousands of other organisations around the world.

This is a great time to join Torchbox. We’re proud to be an employee owned digital agency,  business is booming in the UK and US, Wagtail is flying high and we’re doing great work with many, incredible, mission-driven organisations.

We are looking for a Head of Analytics to join our team!

This is a new role, and would suit someone who has either worked in a similar role, or is looking to move up from a senior web analytics role. Our Data + Measurement team serve two functions at Torchbox: to support the measurement of  the work we do in our digital marketing team, and to work as part of an integrated web build team to help our clients define, measure and report on website behaviour.

You’ll be leading and defining the analytics functions across all parts of the company. The role will blend hands-on support to our most important clients (you can expect to be account managing 1-2 of our biggest clients right off the bat), with team leadership and management, and would suit someone whose interest lies in growing and positioning Torchbox as the leading analytics agency for nonprofits in the UK and beyond. You will sit on Torchbox’s Digital Marketing Senior Management team.

Our Head of Analytics will have the following skills:

  • 3+ years working in a senior data analytics position. Agency experience is highly desirable.

  • Advanced knowledge of Google’s suite of measurement tools. Our services are built around Google Analytics, Google Data Studio and Google Tag Manager.

  • Experience leading, motivating and developing a team of expert data analysts. You’ll have direct line management responsibilities.

  • Demonstrable experience proactively setting the direction of a team or product, and delivering against an original vision. You will be expected to design and deliver a strategy that delivers sustainable growth for our analytics proposition. You’ll build on our existing strengths and grow our offering into areas we’re not in yet (whether that’s new products like CRO, or expanding into new, closely related sectors to our core client base).

  • Experience responding to previous (and current) technological challenges within the data and measurement space. You will be responsible for overseeing the rollout of Google Analytics 4 with our existing clients, and you’ll be expected to lead on the rollout of server-side tracking, BigQuery integration and more.

  • Excellent working knowledge of the latest cookie and GDPR policies.

  • Demonstrable understanding of how data-led  strategies can support business objectives, KPIs and goals. Any nonprofit specific experience would be desirable.

  • Strong commercial awareness. Your job will be to foreground only those products and offerings that maximise the value we deliver to our clients.

  • Experience with a range of Google Cloud Data Analytics Products including BigQuery, Data Flow etc.

  • Outstanding communication skills. You’ll need to translate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders internally and externally.

What we can offer you:

  • The opportunity to be a co-owner of Torchbox, shaping and sharing in our success. Be a partner, not just an employee. Our Voice Groups provide the chance to share your vision within Torchbox.

  • The chance to work with our brilliant clients, making the world a better place

  • Competitive salary with annual review with annual employee owners and performance bonus

  • Training and conference budget to accelerate your development.

  • Flexible working hours; the option to work fully remotely, split your time between office and home, or choose to be in one of our offices fulltime, enabling you to work in a flexible way that best suits your needs.

  • Free eye tests, flu jabs & shopping discounts

  • Private health scheme and access to mental health support

  • Ethical pension scheme, with a 5% contribution from Torchbox

  • Wellness programme and cycle to work scheme, alongside other Torchbox offerings, good for both you and the environment.

  • Regular virtual and in-person events, weekly veggie team lunch (when we’re in the office)  & parties including our famous Torchfest

  • 25 days holiday, plus public holidays
