We were delighted to scoop the award for Best Use of Social Media in a Search Campaign at this year’s UK Search Awards.

The award was for our work with Breast Cancer Care (who recently merged with Breast Cancer Now) on their amazing Afternoon Tea Fundraiser.

Afternoon Tea is a summer community fundraising campaign. Every year, thousands of people around the country host an afternoon tea with friends and family, raising money to support people with breast cancer. The objective for the digital component of the campaign was to encourage people to sign up to host an event and fundraise for Breast Cancer Care.

Paid social played a key part in the success of this campaign, in particular Facebook, with significant testing at the heart of our approach.

It’s not only the results that are outstanding in this campaign, it’s the partnership that we have developed with the merged Breast Cancer Now that has made it such a success. By combining our expertise, knowledge and ideas we have been able to build a campaign together that will continue to evolve and perform year-after-year.

Torchbox’s bespoke and collaborative approach across PPC and paid social activity was integral to attaining record performance for our two flagship community fundraising events this year, both in terms of participation and income.

2018 was a record year for Afternoon Tea but our work hasn’t stopped there. We’ve built on our results to run a 2019 campaign that has eclipsed last year’s record-breaking results!
